Tell me about yourself, goals, etc.

Am new to the Spartan website. looking for a description/definition of a burpee. Anyone mind giving me the how-tos? They sound fun!
January 1, 2013 at 2:42 pm
you think they’re fun but no. just no. a burpee is when you fall to the ground, do one push up to get yourself up, then keeping your legs together tuck them under your chest and jump up as high as you can. Here’s an example http://activemobilitychiro.com/custom_content/c_271260_100day_burpee_challenge_2012.html Have fun

I am a father of 3 and working to get my healthy / althetic body back. I have been running and changed my eating completely in the last year and half. In the process I have been looking for a challange to test my will, endurance, and physical abilities.
I have completed some trail races and want to know if I can be ready to do this by next summer?

I am new to Spartan training. I am 41 years old and have started training for my first 5K run this September with a goal of my first Spartan Sprint next April 2013.
I started 12 weeks ago at 254.5 lbs and have dropped 20 lbs to date. This may not seem like much but until May 1, 2012, I hadn’t run any distance for 20 years. When I started I could only get 1/8 of a mile before having to walk. I almost have the 5k distance down. I am excited to compete and make Spartan racing a way of life.

Good effort so far but why wait till next year to do a spartan sprint, the medal, “T” shirt, but most of all the atmosphere at these events is bound to do wonders for your motivation, sign up, show up, just never never, NEVER give up.

I am competeing in my 1st Spartan Sprint in PA. I would classify myself as a novice when it comes to obstacle course racing, or another other races for that fact. I’m very nervous about tomorrow. what is the best types of food to eat the night before? Is it better to eat carbs or more clean food such as lean means/proteins/veggie? Thanks for any input!!!
