Understanding Team Training

A horse never runs so fast as when he has other horses to catch up and outpace.
Friends don’t let friends miss workouts. That’s exactly what they are there for when deciding to train with friends, or with soon-to-be friends- for those who workout together stay together, almost invariably. Time to stop thinking your kung-fu level mindfulness and suffer quotients won’t be reached if you relax a bit and laugh during a workout. You just might discover that your performance goes through the roof, after you let group dynamics dictate a few workouts.
Here are the top 4 reasons you should join a team.
1. Accountability: You’ll be less likely to skip workouts when someone is counting on you.
2. Expose weaknesses: Fact, you’re not the best. Own it. See what others can do better, and learn from them. Better the practice field, then the race course.
3. Expose strengths: Fact, there are things you can do way better than others. Own it. Be proud, but humple. Congratulate yourself, and move on.
4. Push yourself harder: You might very well have a gear you’ve never used, never knew you had. Maybe someone will either inspire or anger you enough to engage it.
