homesforourtroops-logoSpartan Race is raising money in a partnership with the Homes for Our Troops not-for-profit organization. Spartan Race is working with Homes for Our Troops, an organization strongly committed to helping those who have selflessly given to our country and have returned home with serious disabilities and injuries since September 11, 2001.

It is the duty and honor of the organization to assist severely injured Servicemen and Servicewomen and their immediate families by raising donations of money, building materials and professional labor and to coordinate the process of building a home that provides maximum freedom of movement and the ability to live more independently. The homes provided by Homes for Our Troops are provided at no cost to the Veterans served.

Homes for Our Troops has been named a Top Rated Charity by American Institute of Philanthropy and has been give a 4‐Star rating by Charity Navigator. To date they have helped more than 60 Veterans and are in the process of building more than 40 homes. Spartan’s Goal for 2011 is to sponsor a home build of $400,000 for a wounded veteran.

Mark – Wow what a sad story and powerful at the same time. It is so cool to see how cisosfrt is so much more than working out at a gym to look a certain way. It has so many elements that work together to push us to be better in every aspect of life including how we support and care for one another. Its not or at least it shouldnt be about a selfish desire to be better than the person working out next to you but a desire to help those around you be better so you become better as a community. That is what it seems like Zach has done. That is how i feel about each of the trainers and participants at our box It is so neat to see how this tragedy has brought that community closer together. It makes me very thankful for my cisosfrt family. Thanks to each one of you who help make this community what it is.[]
