Traci“One who gains strength by overcoming obstacles, possesses the only strength which can overcome adversity.” – Albert Schweitzer

Meet Traci Templeton – a strong, motivational woman hailing from Pittsfield, Vermont, whose courage and strength is commendable, contagious, and inspirational.

Traci lives in Pittsfield, Vermont and her backyard is the course for Spartan’s Death Race.  In 2010, she was so inspired by the racers, that her and her crew stayed up all night and pushed themselves physically and mentally to tape the Death Race that the fittest man in the world, Joe Decker, won.  She has repeated this state of mental and physical endurance, even after her home and town was destroyed by Hurricane Irene.  Rather than give into her emotions and dwell on the unfortunate, inconceivable circumstances, she overcame adversity with tremendous strength and courage!

Traci has motivated the people in her community, rebuilding the towns and streets of Pittsfield, all while having a smile on her face.  She is an amazingly strong woman and we at Spartan Race, consider her to be a hero and role model for us all.

Our hearts go out to her, her family, and all who were affected by Hurricane Irene.  Traci has lost her home, her possessions, and has been separated from her daughter after Hurricane Irene.  The sign she is holding in this picture is hung on what is left of her home, and now it can hang on you.  If you would like to help Traci, click on the link and buy a t-shirt.  All proceeds go to Traci and her daughter.

Thank you each and everyone who has reached out to Traci. She is an indominable spirit here in Pittsfield. Our town is slowly but steadily moving onward and upward in the very tradition of Spartan. Traci has a long way to go, as do many more here. Long after the surface appears renewed, there will be long term needs that can only be met with financial assistance. Bless you all.
