Spartan WOD for Sunday, 10.7.12

Come what may, all bad fortune is to be conquered by endurance.

-Virgil

Long Run – 1-3 hours

There is no script for success, just as there is no easy way to the finish line.

There will be distractions.  There will be 10,000 reasons to quit chirping in your head like crickets.  There will be unexpected setbacks and unforeseen obstacles.

Life will be ‘unfair’.

Muscles will pull, maybe tear.  You will have to heal.

Burnout might arise.  You will have to work through it.

You won’t sleep as much.

Inspiration usually only lasts a minute, then you are on your own for the next 2-4 hours of your run.

Tomorrow’s run shouldn’t be a walk in the park.  You should plan on going far, well passed your comfort zone.  You should up the pace, faster than you ran for your long run last week.

Let the myriad bad fortunes arise during your long run – endure and finish.
