Spartan WOD for Friday, 9.21.12

by Jason Jaksetic

In the beginner’s mind there are many possibilities, but in the expert’s mind there are few.
-Shunryu Suzuki

Instead of being intimidated by starting an exercise regiment, be inspired.  Let the unknown possibilities that await you as you change your life encourage you to begin.  Don’t worry about being an expert – just begin.

Even the most advanced athlete can learn a great deal from looking at obstacles in his or her fitness with fresh eyes.

Warm up:

25 jumping jacks

25 side jacks

20 minute run, conversation pace.

Main Strength Set:

10 burpees

10 jumping lunges

5 pull ups

10 body weight squats

5 box jumps

(Repeat 1-3 times)

Cool Down

Stretch for at least 10 minutes.

This Saturday there will be a showdown of champion grade women at The Vermont Beast.  Check out the line-up of ultra fit Spartan Chicks that will be toeing the starting line together.

One of them, elite racer Andi Hardy, once wrote a blog for us on how beginner’s should approach the WOD.  Check it out HERE.
