Monday is traditionally a recovery day in many training programs. If you trained hard this weekend, your body probably needs to absorb some of those fitness gains. That, and you might need some extra time to organize your upcoming week.

Try something new on recovery days; break the monotony of your regular routine. Try and find a group activity, something like pick-up basketball, cycling, or swimming, to help you loosen-up. Your goal is to put yourself out of your normal comfort zone and learn some new skills, all while having fun and recovering for a hard workout tomorrow.

Don’t let the competition push you too hard. Know your limits. There is a time and place to break out serious efforts, but today in not one of them.
