Last weekend the East Coast was assaulted by Hurricane Irene. We are gearing up for races in Pennsylvania and Staten Island this month but we were notified by our friends at Wolfe’s Pond Park in SI that they suffered some storm damage and need your help! Say’s Matthew LeBow, “As a trail maintainer and builder at Wolfe’s Pond Park for over 10 years I am very sad to announce the park has taken a hard hit.”
The team at Spartan along with the local sponsors and the NYC Parks Department are setting up a clean up of the park on September 17, 2011 with a rain date of September 18, 2011. We will provide food, Drink, tools, some give away’s and a great day at an awesome park.
The clean up will start at 09:00 and we should be finished by 2:00 pm. Please contact Matthew LeBow at Xsportscafe@aol.com if you are able to attend!
If you have children or friends that need community service hours for school we are happy to provide them with a letter for the time worked.
This may be the most important day of volunteering for the race as we ensure a safe and beautiful course for all participants, volunteers and spectators.
SPARTANS get it Done and Make it Happen! This we will prove on September 17th!
The clean up will start at 9:00 A.M. and we should be finished by 2:00 P.M.
Thank you in advance for your assistance! See you out there!
